Tip shearer

The backing department can tipsheare the pile on both loop and cut pile carpets.

Tip shearing gives the carpet a uniform surface and a nice finish.

Tip shearing takes place on carpets with widths of 1.00 m to 5.00 m. It is carried out by a modern SELLERS machine featuring three cutting heads. One of the heads is specially designed for tip shearing of carpets with low and tight piles.

To improve the shearing we can treat the carpet with steam just before the shearing. After the shearing it is possible to re-roll the carpet on a tube or place it in a trailer.
